From 27th to 29th September 2016, Representatives of 14 African countries convened in Rwanda to discuss how Rwanda’s YouthConnekt initiative can be applied in their respective countries.

In case to have a general idea of practical implementation of the program, they visited different innovation hub and youth centers. One of them was Kimisagara One Stop Youth and Productive Center (KOSYP).

After their arrival, Coordinator of KOSYP, Emmanuel BIGENIMANA, welcomed them and gave them a brief presentation about the activities of the center in general. In addition, they were also given a tour to see where every activity is based inside the center, simultaneously being explained to them (activities) deeply with their respective impact to the Rwandan youth.


YouthConnekt programme was initiated in 2012 by the Ministry of Youth and ICT in partnership with One UN Rwanda and other partners, to empower young people and connect them to the public, private sector and the civil society for economic opportunities.

Countries that were present at the workshop were Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Congo-Brazzaville, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Lesotho, Sao Tome, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Liberia and Uganda.
