A DELEGATION FROM BURKINA FASSO PAID A VISIT TO KIMISAGARA YOUTH CENTER

A group of eight gentlemen from the West of Africa visited The Kimisagara Youth center. It was a one day journey to the Youth Center where they had time to have talks with the youth center coordinator to learn how the center works.

They were interested by the presentation of the youth center coordinator about the background, mission and vision of the center. They walked throughout the center and were knew all that are done like entertainment (modern and traditional dance different games), sport (football, volleyball, handball), information communication technology, computer skills, self-employment, tailoring and health services related to sexual reproduction.

The coordinator explained that all this is done at the center since the government policy is to make the youth productive to prepare their future life, to make Rwandan youth busy so that they don’t have time to introduce themselves in delinquency like prostitution and drug abuse.

The head of delegation, Honourable Minister of Youth and professionalism Smaïla Ouédraogo said that Kimisagara Youth center is a center well organized and very important for local youth since it helps many young people in different domains for free of charge. He said that the delegation learnt a lot which can help youth of Burkina Fasso.

The government of Rwanda established youth centers throughout the country to help young people achieve their goals, develop their talent, learn more about entrepreneurship and self-employment fight against illiteracy, drug abuse and know more about sexual reproductive health in order to reduce premature pregnancy and HIV/AIDS positive.
